Slieve Aughty Riding Centre opened 23 years ago, offering equestrian and farm holidays for children and families during the summer months, and became a member of Association of Irish Riding Establishments (AIRE) 3 years later. Over time the riding centre grew, adding a tack room, hay shed, cross country course and additional acreage. In 2006, Esther decided to improve the facility in order to continue offering quality holidays, building a small restaurant, toilet and locker room, classroom, and 2 single bedroom private chalets. The sand arena was relocated, enlarged and given an all weather surface and a new garden area with a living pergola was created. The largest project was the construction of a 9 bedroom guest house and restaurant on the site of the existing farm house, which was demolished in 2006.
